Meet the team – Barry

My role in the company is the Keyholding Manager, and that means ensuring all our client keys and information are kept up to date. This ensures our supervisors do not have to attend sites with incorrect information, thus keeping logistical costs to a minimum.

Before joining Select, I was the Operations Manager at a security company which was bought out by Select. Prior to this, I was tasked to work on behalf of City & Guilds, assessing students that have to work in the highways and confined spaces.

My fondest memory since joining the company is the help I was given by all the office staff helping me to recover from an attack of Bell’s palsy.

In my spare time, I like travelling abroad on foreign holidays, Thai boxing, and anything to do with technology.

Meet the Team – Chris

Chris Clisham – Liverpool Airport Security Supervisor

Chris is a Supervisor based at Liverpool Airport managing a team of security officers to oversee the day to day operations of the Airport from patrolling fence lines and car parks and to be a visual presence in and around the terminal.

We are also a ‘go to person’ for anybody wanting advice and information. The team regularly win awards from the airport for going above and beyond.

Chris has vast experience in security and before joining the team at Select Security he was a Security Supervisor at Chester Zoo.

Chris believes his biggest achievement is potential saving a persons life by pulling him away from falling roof panels outside the Terminal caused by very strong winds. He acted quickly by evacuating the area and putting a cordon in place as well as notifying airport management about the serious situation.

As a result of his actions he was recognised by the Airport CEO and given the Responsibility award which is one of the Airports Core Values.

In his spare time Chris likes to spend time with his family and going for days out. He also loves Mixed Martial Arts which he holds a Black Belt in, he trains 4 times a week to keep active and fit. The picture above is prior to recent fight which he and his team raised over £10.000 for Cancer Research UK.
