He leads our Control Room team and manages our operational resources across the business. Phil has been in security since 2009 and managed our control room since 2016. Prior to working in security, Phil worked in the construction industry.
His interests outside work involve spending time with his wife and young family and he has a keen interest in music.
Huw Jones has been a security for the past 11 years having been a graphic designer and works as a Mobile Supervisor in the North Wales and Chester area. He is based at our Wrexham Office and has recently passed his First Aid training. Here he is, shown with his certificate.
He is single with 2 grown up children and his interest include classic cars and bespoke dealer signs.
My role in the company is that of security officer at the Innovation Centre, Daresbury, for the past year. My duties involve security and access control of the building, external patrols, and customer service.
Before joining Select, I worked for another security company in Warrington and before that I was the manager of William Hill Bookmakers.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, and I like fishing when I have the opportunity.
As Risk and Compliance Manager for Select Security Services, Malcolm Porter is responsible for the ensuring that our company follows the relevant Standards and run the Business Management System to comply with BS ISO 9001: 2015.
He ensures that regular internal and external audits are carried out in accordance with the relevant British Standards and to the standards required by CHAS.
Malcolm is also the IT Manager for the company and carries out first line support and escalates to our IT support provider and coordinate our Mobile telephones and any technical projects / software.
Prior to working in security Malcolm was a member of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces for over 22 years, serving in locations all over the world as a Communications Specialist.
Malcolm has been in the Security Industry for over 20 years and has come up through the Man Guarding side up to and including National Contract Manager. He has a great deal of knowledge in the electronic security side of the industry as he has helped design and built a Category 2 Alarm Receiving Centre and was the Technical Manager of a large Electronic Security provider. He was a Monitoring Station Manager. Malcolm was also a Technical Director of an external Auditing Company.
My role in the company is the Keyholding Manager, and that means ensuring all our client keys and information are kept up to date. This ensures our supervisors do not have to attend sites with incorrect information, thus keeping logistical costs to a minimum.
Before joining Select, I was the Operations Manager at a security company which was bought out by Select. Prior to this, I was tasked to work on behalf of City & Guilds, assessing students that have to work in the highways and confined spaces.
My fondest memory since joining the company is the help I was given by all the office staff helping me to recover from an attack of Bell’s palsy.
In my spare time, I like travelling abroad on foreign holidays, Thai boxing, and anything to do with technology.
Chris Clisham – Liverpool Airport Security Supervisor
Chris is a Supervisor based at Liverpool Airport managing a team of security officers to oversee the day to day operations of the Airport from patrolling fence lines and car parks and to be a visual presence in and around the terminal.
We are also a ‘go to person’ for anybody wanting advice and information. The team regularly win awards from the airport for going above and beyond.
Chris has vast experience in security and before joining the team at Select Security he was a Security Supervisor at Chester Zoo.
Chris believes his biggest achievement is potential saving a persons life by pulling him away from falling roof panels outside the Terminal caused by very strong winds. He acted quickly by evacuating the area and putting a cordon in place as well as notifying airport management about the serious situation.
As a result of his actions he was recognised by the Airport CEO and given the Responsibility award which is one of the Airports Core Values.
In his spare time Chris likes to spend time with his family and going for days out. He also loves Mixed Martial Arts which he holds a Black Belt in, he trains 4 times a week to keep active and fit.
