Not only do we train our own workforce to the highest standard, our state of the art school offers courses to individuals or organisations seeking credentials of the highest calibre.
All security officers undergo rigorous training which is delivered in two parts.
Firstly officers are given theoretical training which covers the role and responsibilities of officer; fire safety; health and safety; aspects of criminal and civil law; procedures for the control of keys and equipment; assignment instructions and reporting; officers are trained to SIA standard.
The second part covers practical skills and assessment including communication skills and conflict management. Following successful completion they progress to on-site training. During this time they are supervised as they are introduced into the operational environment. They are assessed continually for 16 weeks and are then encouraged to undertake the appropriate National Vocational Qualification in Security.
All door supervision staff undergo training, which covers health and safety, first aid, drugs awareness and also public entertainment and licensing laws.
This is provided by our in-house expert who has 30 years experience in the police force and has been responsible for establishing several public house registration schemes over the years.
Many of Select Security’s staff are ex-armed forces or from the police service, discipline and self-control are second nature and all staff are SIA registered.
