Gadbrook Park

An Interview with:  Jonathan Smith - Contracts Manager

Select Security - Gadbrook Park Following the successful tender for the Gadbrook Park BID, Select Security Services have once again shown that they are a leading innovator within the modern security industry in the North West.

With turnover increasing and the company expanding even during the current economic climate how have Select Security managed their current levels of success?

To try to ascertain the reasons behind this success we approached one of Select Security’s Contracts Managers, Jonathan Smith, and asked him if he would talk us through the Gadbrook Park BID.

“Having extensive experience with operating BIDs in the North West it was a logical move for us to enter into the tender process for Gadbrook Park” said Jonathan.  But how did you approach the tender?  “We approach all our potential contracts in the same manner; we identify the client’s needs and then see how we can add value to that contract.  We also stress to the client our business mantra ‘Your business is our business’ throughout the tender process.” Jonathan explained.

Jonathan then went on to explain what Select Security did when it won the tender and also what it currently does at Gadbrook Park.  “As soon as we were informed that our tender had been successful we contacted the incumbent security supplier, to start the TUPE process, as well as the BID management team so that we could start immediate planning of resources and ensuring that we were putting into place a framework that was mutually agreed upon.  Once this had been put into place we commenced a programme of meeting both the officers who were moving to us via TUPE and the numerous BID members to consult and inform them of the framework we would be implementing within Gadbrook Park BID.

Since we commenced operating security for the Gadbrook Park BID on 1st June 2010 we have had some extremely positive feedback on our initial endeavours; these include the increased visibility of signage, the increased communication with a dedicated Contracts Manager, the quality of service offered and improvements in the security officers general appearance.”

As can be seen from this comprehensive answer things certainly appear to be moving in a positive direction for both Select Security Services and the members of the Gadbrook Park BID.  With their positive approach, innovative ideas and belief in working in synergy with their clients Select Security Services look to be rapidly becoming one of the leading lights of the security industry in the North West.

So what next for this expanding company?  Perhaps the final word should come from Jonathan.  “We have identified several areas within the industry that we have extensive experience of and shall be targeting in the future.  Select Security intends to be a pathfinder for the security industry; we fully embrace modern business practices such as CPD for employees and integration of the latest technology to enhance our service levels.  We also make ourselves available to our clients for consultation on any security issues and believe that any relationship we have with a client should be open and honest with a view to establishing a long term partnership with them.”
